From 17 to 19 September 2025, the Department of Christian Civilization at the University of Jaffna organized a study tour for Level II students as part of their academic program. The three day initiative was designed to strengthen academic understanding by providing direct exposure to Christian art, architecture, and significant historical, cultural, and religious sites.
Through field observation and guided engagement, students were able to connect classroom learning with lived heritage, gaining deeper insights into the intersections of faith, culture, and history. The tour offered practical experiences aligned with the curriculum, encouraging critical reflection and appreciation of Christian civilization in its broader context.
The Department emphasized that such study tours are integral to its mission of combining academic rigor with experiential learning. The 2025 programme succeeded in nurturing holistic education, equipping students with knowledge that extends beyond textbooks into real world contexts.
