The late Rev. Dr. Anton Mathias served as the Head of the Department of Christian Civilization from 1997 to 2004. During his tenure, he made a significant contribution to the academic development of the Department and the welfare of its students. He was committed to improving academic activities and also provided financial support to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to help them continue their education.
His concern for the educational progress of students and academic staff reflected his strong commitment to education and social responsibility. In memory of his academic contribution and to maintain their relationship with the Department, his family has continued to engage with the Department.
As part of this continuing relationship, his family visited the Department on 3 September 2026 and met with the academic staff and students. During the visit, they inquired about the welfare and educational needs of the students and expressed their interest in supporting future academic activities and student development initiatives of the Department.
This continued engagement reflects the family’s appreciation of the academic contribution and social commitment of the late Rev. Dr. Anton Mathias and their willingness to continue his legacy of supporting education and students.
